General park related questions

How near to the, nearest village, shops and restaurants is the park?

We have a café on-site (please see café page on this website), the park is situated 1.5 miles from the village of Doddington, (it can be walked to by public footpath), which has two pubs (of which one is dog friendly), two convenience shops, a post office and a fish & chip shop. March is the nearest town, which is 6 miles away, and has major supermarkets, pubs and restaurants.

Are dogs welcome?

Of course, a maximum of 4 dogs on a touring pitch and maximum of 2 dogs in a lodge.

Is the park open all year around?

Yes, the lodges, the pitches and the lakes, are open all year around, the lakes are only closed on Christmas Day and when they are frozen.

Can we have our grandchildren come and visit us?

No, sorry we are an adult only park, we only allow children around the lakes if they are fishing and accompanied by an adult.

Is there a bus service nearby?

Yes, we have 3 buses a day (No 56) pass the entrance to the site, these buses go to Doddington, March, March train Station, Tesco’s & Wisbech. There are connecting services from Doddington, but there can be a bit of a wait or walk/drive to Doddington for the departure times.


Caravan park related questions

Do you have a toilet and shower facility?

Absolutely, the Main Park has a lovely facility with male and female rooms, each have a cubicle with a shower, toilet and basin in, plus separate showers and toilets. The Caravan & Motorhome Club’s certified location, also has its own separate well presented block with a self contained cubicle. We also have an excellent Radar key operated disabled building.

What time can I arrive, and when do I need to vacate my pitch?

12.15pm from March – October and 12pm in the winter months, departure is by 12pm sharp please, if you wish to stay until 5pm, and there is no arrival on your pitch, then you may for an extra £3.

Is there a park and ride for Cambridge?

Yes, there are a couple of options, we recommended this option too, as parking is expensive in Cambridge.

Is the fishing price included in the pitch?

No, however we do offer a residents rate, and Senior Citizen discounts, please see fishing prices.

Do you offer seasonal pitches?

No, sorry.

Can I choose my own pitch?

If you are an existing customer, you can request a pitch or a section of the park, and if it is available, we will do our best to keep it for you, we just can’t guarantee it. You are guaranteed your pitch type (e.g Fully serviced grass pitch)

Do I have to pay for shower?

No completely free showers, no buttons to push to keep the water flowing either.

What is the TV Signal like?

No problem here luckily.

Do you sell Calor Gas on-site?

No sorry, Calor won’t supply small retailers anymore.

How much hose might I need to connect to the services?

It does depend quite a lot on which pitch you are on, where the services come out of your unit, and the direction you park your unit in (e.g tow bar in first or reverse in), but worst case scenario, you may need up to 14 meters of waste, a lot less in many cases. We do sell extra pipe and joiners in the reception.

Do you allow RV’s and 5th Wheelers?

We allow 5th wheelers in the April through to October, but sorry we can’t accept RV’s, there is an additional £2/night for 5th wheelers.

Is there wi-fi, if yes, is it free?

We do have very good wi-fi onsite, it is out sourced to another company and you buy it from your device, and there is a charge for it.


Lodge Related questions

What time is check in & check out?

Check-in is from 3pm, but if you wish to book and early arrival from 12pm, you may, for an additional £25, subject to availability. Check out is strictly 10am. 

What do I need to bring with me?

The lodges are very well equipped, all you need to bring is your clothes, wash bag, and your food and drink, a dressing gown and a spare towel for hot tub use may be a good idea.

Is the fishing price included in the price of the lodge?

No, I am afraid not, however we do offer a resident’s rate, and Senior Citizen discounts, please see fishing prices.

Is there wi-fi, if yes, is it free?

We do have very good wi-fi onsite, it is out sourced to another company and you buy it from your device, and there is a charge for it.

Are the hot tubs private?

Yes, each lodge has their own hot tub on the veranda.

Why do we have to pay £100 pre-authorisation swipe?

We take this as a deposit, held against damage to the lodge or for excessive cleaning, the £100 is held to one side in your account until approximately 4 working days after your departure.

Can we bring our own logs?

No, we supply all the logs from reception. Reason being, we need to know that the correct fuel is being burnt, for the safety of our guests and flues. 


Fishing related questions

Can I take my car on to the bank of the fishing lake?

Strictly only if you have a valid blue disabled badge, and the signs aren’t up saying “too wet”,

What time can I go on the bank to start fishing?

March – October inclusive, from 7am, November – February 8am.

Can I night fish?

No, you can fish up until dusk or 9.30pm, whichever comes first.

Can we hire fishing equipment?

Sorry, we don’t have tackle to hire, we do sell most tackle and bait on site though.

Can I have my dog sat with me on the fishing bank?

If you are a resident, that’s not a problem, obviously your pooch would need to be on a lead, we don’t allow dogs with day fishermen, sorry.

What fish do you have in the lakes and how big are they?

We have Carp to 27lbs, Barbell to 10lbs, Tench to 10lbs, Perch to 3lbs, Cruchian Carp to 3lbs, Chubb to 4lbs, Ide to 6lbs, plus various other species shapes and sizes.
